Our Oulart Hill 1798 Battlefield Walking Hub project has been very fortunate to have received a huge amount of voluntary work and materials from a large number of people. The goodwill out there for the project has been humbling and it has been a highlight of the project to see people taking ownership of their heritage and environment. Wexford Local Development have also been very supportive and allowed us to develop the walks with partial funding for signage and marker stones. As a group we have had to raise our own funding also. There are also, as with any project, some ongoing costs to maintain the trails, sites and infrastructure that can’t be met with voluntary labour.
