Thrashing and Thatching!

The Bygone days storytelling house is planning a threshing on the 26th of September weather permitting.  2 acres of thatching wheat was sowed earlier this year with the special old variety seed coming from Cambridge, England.  Hopefully if the weather allows cutting will be by an old style binder in August.  The thrashing will take place beside the storytelling house in lower Oulart and the plan is to thatch the storytelling house with the straw hopefully sooner rather than later!

Photos of the cutting thanks to Kieran Kelly.
